Setouchi Beer
About: Setouchi Beer is a craft brewery in Takamatsu City, on the northeast end of the island of Shikoku. The region is characterized by its natural scenery with scattered islands, a clear sky, and calm waves. I was asked by the owner to come up with a design when they wanted to rebrand.

Beautiful scenery and easy living
With these two ideas in mind I set out to create something that mixed majesty with lighthearted fun. The overlapping islands in the logo are a nod to the many small islands in the Seto Inland Sea, and they nest comfortably above the gentle waves of the wordmark.
Working with other breweries
Most of the early labels emphasized some kind of natural beauty or ingredient, but collaboration beers provided an opportunity to deviate from the flagship arch design.
